THE TEAM
Bringing several decades of experience (!) to your session...each our our team are qualified to ISA Level 2 surf coach or equivalent, BSUPA Level 2 sup coach and RLSS beach lifeguard or equivalent.
We also conduct regular in-house training sessions and continue to study and train in fields outside of ocean sports to bring fresh ideas and techniques to our coaching.

DOM MOORE
As well as coaching surf, sup, coasteer, snorkel and ocean confidence at Surf Sanctuary, Dom is a BSUPA National Trainer, editor at SUP International Magazine and commercially qualified skipper. Hobbies include swimming with his dogs Reb and Dingo (and partner Kate), and studying Natural Sciences.

DAVE READ
Consummate outdoors guide Dave came to Cornwall some years ago via the mountains of British Columbia. Dave coaches all activities at Surf Sanctuary and has a matchless understanding of the local coastline and conditions. Likes to unwind in clean, running surf and on long, pre-dawn paddles.

NICO MURLOWSKI
Nico has been riding and vibing with us at Surf Sanctuary for years, and in 2017 we were especially stoked when he formally joined our coaching team. As well as a lifelong connection with surfing and the ocean, Nico is an adept skier, speaks French, makes great cocktails and generates 35kw of power with each paddle stroke.

FRANKIE FOX
Cool, calm collected and with a work rate that would make an Iditarod racing husky think twice, Frankie aka Franco is 100% diagnosed addicted to the ocean. Surf, coasteer (all tides!), SUP and snorkel form the portfolio of this modern day incarnate of Boris Becker circa Wimbledon '86. You'll see what we mean ;)

JAMIE CROSSMAN
Does he have gills? Maybe. 'Crossbow' is typically found on, under, or moving through the sea around Cornwall. You will find JC during the long summer evenings and weekends all year round coaching  across many disciplines from all types of surfing, SUP, spearfishing and coasteering, JC has earned his moniker 'The Celtic Waterman'.

NICK BARTELOT
Multi discipline, English / French speaking Nick has two decades experience tutoring across all aspects of surf spots in a broad variety of locations. Special powers include warming empathy in the surf zone and exceptional backhand tube riding skills. After hours builds houses and helps neighbours with DIY projects.

ALAN STOKES
Multiple British Champion surfer, international competitor and life-long professional athlete. Al’s ability to breakdown and demonstrate any element of surfing from paddling out to tail-high aerials, is unequalled. Photographer, musician, and walker of mini-poodle Rufus during downtime.
