Two days ago, today looked like it would be 10m weather. Then today came, and it turned out to be 7m weather. Not usually a problem on your average beach break but of course ‘today’ we were off to the special reef break with its tight rocky launch, looming harbour wall, dreaded finger of rock just inside the break and of course the actual reef to get dragged over.
This 2 and a bit minute rough edit was hacked away from about 10 minutes of footage. I’ve just trimmed the fat off the clips and muddled them about on the timeline but I think you can see what a lot of fun Smiler and Will are having here
Here, I’m getting to grips with the new RRD Vision kitesurfing kite. It’s a three strut device that’s really intended to be sold as part of a package with the Placebo twin tip, but to be honest, most of the time I’ve been flying the Vision the waves have been cranking and so the Placebo got left in the van. By van, I mean Smiler’s van, since I don’t own one.
If there’s one thing that Cornwall isn’t that great for, it’s offshore wave riding with a kite, well at least around the Watergate area anyway
