I am running a BKSA Powerkite ITC in Weston-Super-Mare on the weekend 18th – 19th August.

Location: Uphill Village Community Hall, 53 Old Church Road, BS23 4XH

Times: 9.30am – 5.30am both days

Cost: £200 inc. course materials

Why become a powerkite instructor?

Coaching and teaching are some of the most rewarding things we can do. When you help someone understand and navigate challenges in their path, you can bet they will feel great and as their coach, you will too.

Kiting is a ‘perfect fit’ when it comes to coaching. Because of the way we break the learning process down into bite-sized chunks, a natural conversation develops between the client and the coach. Unlike some sports where the results aren’t easily quantifiable, we can structure kiting lessons so that the client can visualise, and with a little bit of application, taste success.

Not-for-profit kite clubs are essential in the UK in maintaining access and promoting the best practise of the sport to new comers. The best way clubs can do this is with the appointment of a BKSA certified coach. Would you like to be that awesome guy or girl at your local spot who encourages new comers into the sport? Then coaching in kite sports could be for you.

Commercial kite schools require instructors and assistants to carry out lessons to their paying customers. The Powerkite ITC sets you up naturally to get on board with a kite school to begin earning money in exchange for sharing your knowledge and expertise. If you are interested in setting up your own kite school, then your journey starts with the Powerkite ITC.

The BKSA is the official governing body for kite sports within the UK and one of the, if not the most, respective kiting association worldwide. It offers genuine career progression opportunities to coaches within its scheme. Whether you want to get into coaching on a part time, volunteer basis to give something back to your community, or to embark on a professional coaching career, the Powerkite ITC gives you all the tools you need to realise your dream.

is there any other pre-requisite that i need other than a ‘First aid at work certificate’ ??
if that’s all i need, i’ll to book the time off of work and we’re all good to go.
    Cheers,

    Hi Will,

Thanks for reading and glad to see you are interested in the course. Yep, first aid and BKSA membership are all you need to be signed off along with shadowing hours which can be discussed after the course.

Just to be clear, this two day course is a powerkite only ITC, if you wanted buggy and board also, that would need to be a bolt on cone day course on the Monday at an additional £80.

Just download the form, fill ‘er in and mail it to me and we can move forward from there!

    Thanks Will,

    Dom
