    The Redcar Kiteival, held up north as you may have guessed in Redcar, the Tees Valley, was blessed with a southerly thermal wind which kicked in each day giving the land crew and the race competitors in particular something to get stuck into.

    Daymer Bay works in slamming West wind and long range swell, producing the kind of walls that you can see in the photo below. It’s also probably the longest wave in Cornwall; one Mr. Bennet counted twenty hits on one wave last winter

    So my tip is if you aren’t a great photographer (as I am not) just make sure that there’s something interesting in the background to take the heat off your photo and you’ll be almost set.
